VIRGO 1302

VIRGO 1302 is an artistic visualization of twin blackhole system with a large volumetric accretion disc around it. Squeezing volumetric shadows and rendering into 4096 bytes with a simplex noise and the vortex pattern was suprisingly difficult. Unfortunately the music took a small hit here, because it had to be turned to mono rather than stereo. The end result is pretty nice and it ended up placing 1st in Assembly 2020 4k intro competitoin.

I released the full source code for this intro and the build pipeline that turns (human)-readable source code into the final 4kb website that is the competition entry. The Github repo also contains more indepth technical analysis of the intro, so be sure to check it out.
