Done in 3ds max and rendered with VRay. Chess pieces were modeled using splines and nurbs with the exception of knight which was done using polys and displacement for the mane. The rest of the scene including chessboard and arm chair were done with polys. Textures are all procedural maps, 3ds max standard and DarkTree (Simbiont) except the rug which uses bitmap. Scene was lit with skylight and 3 area lights, hdri was only used for reflections.
